Without the excellent support of dedicated volunteers, the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center would not be able to fullfill its mission. Our volunteers are truly an extension of our staff. Annually, volunteers committ over 10,000 hours of service in environmental education, habitat restoration and facility maintanence.

Volunteers must be at least 18 yrs of age. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us at 410-827-6694 and complete our Volunteer Application Form. Be sure to include the Volunteer Activities Preference List so we can find tasks that meet your skill levels and/or interests.

Currently we are seeking volunteers interested in Education, Fund Raising and Maintanence.

Legacy Institute For the Environment (LIFE)

Who can become a Legacy Steward?
Maryland residents interested in learning more about the environment and desiring to volunteer time and talent at CBEC toward environmental education, research, restoration, and stewardship.

How does the Institute Prepare Participants?
Participants attend fascinating educational sessions and participate in site visits guided by expert scientists, environmental educators, and professional consultants.
