The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center has much to offer the water enthusiast! With our ideal location on a peninsula, we offer visitors kayak and canoe rentals to glide around Marshy Creek, the Narrows and Prospect Bay viewing wading birds, waterfowl and acres of marsh and restored shoreline.
Bring your family and a lunch and enjoy the spectacular views that the Chesapeake Bay has to offer. You can picnic in the pavilion adjacent to Lake Knapp, or, take the short hike down to the Salt Panne and enjoy your lunch while looking out over the spectacular Kent Narrows. At the beach there, kids can enjoy seining in the tidal pool. Bring your own seining net or borrow one from our Visitor's Center. Dip nets and buckets are available too.

the tidal pool at the Salt Panne.
A completed release form is necessary for renting out all water recreation equipment. Please fill out and print our release form prior to arrival. Our equipment is first come first serve. Please call for reservations today!
