CREEPY CRAWLERS SCHEDULE 2012
Jan 09, 10 “Leftovers…Bones, Shells, and Teeth.”
Explore the winter woods for the leftovers of animals. Great time of the year for “finds.” The leftovers definitely tell us the animal was there…once upon a time.
Feb 06, 07 “Think Spring”
Although we are still in the winter season we will investigate what is “waking up” in a local woodlot. Looking for frogs, plants, seeds sprouting and new life in nature.
Mar 05, 06 “Things That Fly”
We will learn about how things fly by using some natural and some man-made things that we will fly. Everything from seeds through kites will cover the learning about flying.
Apr 02, 03 “Snails, Slugs and Grubs”
Let’s find the slippery, slimy critters and see where they live and how they move. They don’t bite, but serve as a bite for other animals.

What a change from crawler to flyer! Let’s follow the changes that happen with butterflies and moths.
June 04, 05 “Terrapin Trot” Bring your tricycles, big wheels or wagons and we will ride the grounds to find terrapins. For those who don’t ride, we plan a leisurely stroll. (An easy go ‘round)
July 02, 03 “Who Made That Web?”
Up and down the water spout and other places…we will search out where spiders are found. One of our activities will include “capturing a spider web.”
Aug 06, 07 “Jellies, Jellies…Everywhere.”
Soft-bodied with dangling tentacles…August is the month for jellyfish. Let’s examine them closely and learn about their lives.
Sept 03, 04 “Critters In The Bay”
Learn how to use a dip net and see what we can catch. The critters in the bay each have a job. We will find out what they look like, where they live, and what they do in the Bay.
Oct 01, 02 “The Stinky Stink Bug-And Other Six Leggers”
I see a bug. Careful, don’t squash it. It might be one that is stinky? Let’s investigate.
Nov 05, 06 “Leaves- Know Your Colors”
Is it yellow or orange? Is it red or orange? We will have to decide when we find things…leaves, seeds, mushrooms and other natural things.
Dec 03, 04 “Birds At The Feeders”
This activity might require sneaking up on the bird feeder to see who is coming to lunch. We will also make a bird feeder to take home and hang in a spot where we can watch the birds.
